The Enemy Combatant was doing some work on his laptop. I opened the door, wearing a cheeky smile and with both of my hands at the back. He knew there was something up my sleeves and asked

“What do you want?”

“I want to play with you!” I exclaimed and showed him my Shu Eemura’s eyelash curler.

“You want to curl my lashes?!” he asked, incredulously. I can smell a hint of fear. He was not cool with the idea but after some pleading, he gave in.

The next 5 minutes was fun. Everytime I put the curler near his eyes, he jerks back. Everytime I asked him to open his eyes, his lids flutters and shuts tightly. Finally, he gave up and said

“I can’t do it. Can’t believe women go through this torture everyday!”

Though I failed to curled his eyelashes, I managed to use my eyeliner on him. I drew a huge lightning bolt on his forehead and turn him into Harry Potter.

It’s so fun playing with cosmetics and having a boyfriend who plays along with me! My Dearest is in SFO and will be coming back on Sunday. Let’s play!

So on Valentine’s Day,  I made an egg. A heart-shaped egg.

This egg was perfect (note the past-tense). I never accept anything below par. I fried the loveliest egg using a Tefal 12 cm egg frying pan in low fire. I took me some time as I had to ensure that the bottom wouldn’t burn and the top cooked. When it’s done, I cut it with a heart-shaped cookie mould. I made the cutest heart-shaped egg with a lovely yellow-orange yolk.

Happily, I placed the egg into a container and transported the egg, along with other things to the office where the Enemy Combatant is. When I open the container, I realised that the fragile yolk broke. And so did my heart.

Despite it’s imperfection, Enemy Combatant was very pleased. At this point, I have to mention that if he were to choose to only eat one thing for the rest of his life- it would be eggs. He loves eggs of any kind; chicken egg, quails egg, caviar, fish roe, anything which will eventually hatch.

Then, it was my turn for a surprise he had arranged for me (it was a lovely spa for two at Mandara Spa follow by Croatian dinner). I was told to quickly finish up my work and not to put on any make-up. With the little time that I was given, I absentmindedly left the remainder of the egg  (those out of the heart-shape mould) in the container.

At the spa, I was served with home-made ginger tea; bathed in a gorgeous steam room; slathered and massaged with yoghurt, lulur and sweet smelling essential oil. I came out fresh, scented and loved.

The poor boyfriend? He went back to the office the next day greeted with the smell of a rotten egg.

Yes, that made my day. Happiness is seeing the unexpected- a peeing rhino.

“Why do you say you talk nonsense?”

“Because I’m a nonsensical girl”

“Why are you a nonsensical girl? Can you not be sensible?”

“Nope. I’m made to be ridiculous. You on the other hand is made to be amazing”

“No. You are amazing”

“Yes. I’m amazingly ridiculous”

“You are ridiculously amazing’

I think we were talking on the phone. I don’t quite remember exactly when, at what situation or  what led us to this ridiculous topic of being ridiculous. We talk too much, I can’t keep track. Sometimes, I think it’ll be great to record all that have transpired between us and compile it like a script, a real life script.

I think this is what connection means. I didn’t know that this was what is missing until I watched Before Sunset. I was reassured; its’ not utophia nor was I picky. I just knew Jesse exist. He really does.t wait to wait Before Sunset with you this weekend!

“I puked my dinner and now im eating biscuits. Not quite okay

“You did what?!”

“Sara, you’re so skinny.I should be puking!”

Friends who had never seen him would ask, “So how’s the Boyfan?”. Once or twice, even very close friends who has the privilege of seeing the man behind the dictionary, playfully referred to him as The Boyfan. It’s becoming everyone’s favourite nickname for him!

If you’ve ever wondered how this term came about, here it is:

“So they asked for my signature. It almost seemed like I have fan boys”

“I have a fan boy too!”

“Who?”

“You”

“I’m not your fan boy. I’m your boyfriend”

“You’re my boyfan!”

And so he is known as The Boyfan ever since.
